WST was very successful at drupa 2008 in Düsseldorf with introducing new components for the signature recognition system family. The big brother OBC Opto Bar Code reader, the only 100% control for signature recognition for the finishing industry has now a new family member, the HSC High Speed Control camera. 
The concept: Each signature or cover is checked by the HSC sensor heads in a way similar to the function of a human eye. In contrast to most of the other camera systems, the HSC sensor heads checks without any data reduction.

WST Systemtechnik’s innovative GC Glue Control camera system for adhesive bound products is one of the most revolutionary new quality control items introduced at drupa. Within the print processing, the quality control of adhesive bound products ends at perfect binding. It does not matter how much effort was used to get here, a book not coffered completely with adhesive is falling apart, a nightmare for every bindery manager. 
The new GC Glue Control camera is mounted right after the spine glue application and can works with EVA, PVA, PUR, etc.). To absolutely avoid this source of error we support your processing by an especially developed camera based glue control system.The glue application is normally done by a nozzle system or a roller application technology. Due to e.g. clogged nozzles or blocked doctor knifes it cannot be excluded that the glue track breaks off, i.e. that a part of the spine is not glued. This leads in the end inevitably to detached book pages or even to a splitting of the whole product and thus to an increasing waste paper rate and at the worst to severe customer complaints.
